STILE di ATTACCAMENTO E REGOLAZIONE AFFETTIVA: UNO STUDIO EMPIRICO SU 260 SOGGETTI

Francesca Pecci, Luigi De Gennaro, Luigi Solano(1)

Riassunto
Obiettivi.

Summary
Objectives. Infant Research has shown how affective regulation develops in the relationship between infant and caregiver, in dose parallel with the attachment style. Aim of this paper is to evaluate the relationship between attachment style and contact with emotions, as measured by the alexithymia construct, in a somewhat large sample of Italian population. Methods. 260 Subjects, 128 males and 132 females, mean age 24.43 years, were examined with the following instruments: The Relationship Questionnaire (RQ), assessing 4 attachment styles; Toronto Alexithymia Scale 20 (TAS-20), for the assessment of alexithymia as a measure of affective dysregulation. Results. Attachment s appeared so distributed: 117 Secure, 61 Fearful, 55 Preoccupied, 25 Dismiss Analysis of variance on TAS-20 scores in the 4 groups identified by the RQshowed. Overall significant difference between groups (F 3,248 =7.85;p<0.0001). Post hoc comparisons show/ed a significant difference (p<.0.05) between Secure (M=42.09) Fearful (M=47.51; p=0.002), Preoccupied (M=47.54-, p=0.005) and Dismiss:
(M=52.92; p=0.00006) subjects. Similarly, a significant difference was obtained between TAS-20 scores of Dismissing and both Fearful (p=0.05) and Preoccupied (p=0, subjects, who on the other hand do not differ from each other. Conclusions. Results < port the hypothesis of a better affective regulation in Secure vs. Insecure subjects, w Dismissing subjects are confirmed as least employing affects in evaluating reality.
