March 1, 2007

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Greetings to all members of the Rapaport-Klein Study Group. We hope this has been a good year for you -- personally and professionally. We are happy to invite you to our 44th annual meeting which will be held, as usual, on the 2nd weekend in June: June 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2007, at the Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

We are again grateful to Paolo Migone for helping us maintain our electronic presence. Our website remains www.psychomedia.it/rapaport-klein to review the history of every meeting since the beginning of our group including many of the papers presented at our meetings. The website for this year's program is www.psychomedia.it/rapaport-klein/june2007.htm. If there are any changes in your e-mail address, please notify Paolo at <migone@unipr.it>. Again we expect that some of the papers presented this year will be posted. Any suggestions for improving our website are welcome and should also be sent to Paolo.

We think you will be pleased with this year's program which promises interesting contributions. On Friday evening, we are pleased to have John Norcross who will speak on "Psychotherapy Relationships and Evidence Based Practice." On Saturday morning, following time for a go-round to share our recent work, we are very pleased to have the opportunity to hear Joel Weinberger whose presentation is titled: "Rats, We Should Have Used Clinton: Subliminal Priming in Political Campaigns." Following lunch, the afternoon session will be given over to Andrew Gerber who will present "Experimental Models for Exploring the Neural Bases of Psychoanalytic Processes: Neuroimaging and Transference." There will be ample time for continued discussion of our Saturday presentations at the end of the day. Cocktails at the Lippmann's completes our Saturday. On Sunday, following our business meeting, we are very happy to present Paul Stepansky who will speak on "The Rise and Fall of Psychoanalytic Publishing in America."

We need to remind you that dues and fees for guests need to be paid as soon as possible. Space is limited and we request no more than one guest per member. Kindly call Doris Silverman (212-799-1577) or Paul Lippmann (413-298-3862) as soon as you can to let us know if you are inviting a guest. Overnight accommodations should be made soon since, as you know, it is busy time of the year in the Berkshires. Members that would care to stay at the Red Lion Inn should call 413-298-1690 and refer to "Group Reservation # 114906: Rapaport-Klein Rooms."

We look forward to seeing you once again and enjoying our weekend together.

Sincerely,

Paul Lippmann and Doris Silverman, Co-Chairs
