Etica della ricerca
In caso di sperimentazioni sull'uomo, gli Autori devono attestare che tali sperimentazioni sono state eseguite previa approvazione del Comitato Etico locale ed in accordo ai principi riportati nella Dichiarazione di Helsinki del 1975 rivisitate nel 2000; gli Autori sono gli unici responsabili delle affermazioni contenute nell'articolo e sono tenuti a dichiarare di aver ottenuto il consenso informato per la sperimentazione e per l'eventuale riproduzione di immagini. Per studi su cavie animali, gli Autori sono invitati a dichiarare che sono state rispettate le relative leggi nazionali e le linee guida istituzionali.

Formato della Rivista
Medicina Psicosomatica pubblica materiale in forma di editoriali, articoli, rassegne, opinioni, resoconti, casi clinici, lettere, recensioni di libri e novita'. Una sezione della rivista è riservata alle Pietre Miliari nella Ricerca Biomedica.
Editoriali: Gli editoriali sono richiesti dal Direttore e sono in genere correlati ad articoli pubblicati nello stesso numero. L'estensione e il formato dell'editoriale saranno concordati tra il Direttore e l'Autore.
Articoli: Gli articoli devono essere preparati in accordo a quanto riportato sotto (Istruzioni specifiche).
Rassegne: Le rassegne sono in genere richieste dal Direttore, ma sono prese in considerazione anche quelle non sollecitate. Questi manoscritti riassumono lo stato dell'arte su argomenti specifici.
Opinioni: Questa sezione della rivista pubblica i contributi relativi alle opinioni personali degli Autori su argomenti particolarmente controversi. Il manoscritto sara' sottoposto a revisione critica come per gli articoli originali.
Resoconti: Questa sezione della rivista riguarda soprattutto il resoconto relativo a congressi scientifici di grande interesse. Il manoscritto non dovrebbe contenere piu' di 2000 parole.
Casi clinici: Gli articoli riguardanti casi clinici non dovrebbero contenere piu' di 3000 parole, comprese 3-4 figure e fino a 20 voci bibliografiche.
Lettere: Le lettere al Direttore vengono pubblicate se appropriate. Esse non dovrebbero contenere piu' di 500 parole e devono avere un titolo.

Istruzioni specifiche

Manoscritti:
Devono essere inviati a: psicosomatica@seuroma.com
La prima pagina del manoscritto deve contenere le seguenti informazioni: 1) Titolo del lavoro (in italiano e in inglese); 2) Nome degli Autori; 3) Nome dell'Istituzione in cui il lavoro e' stato condotto; 4) Riconoscimenti per eventuali collaborazioni e supporti economici della ricerca; 5) Nome e indirizzo dell'Autore al quale deve essere inviata la corrispondenza relativa al manoscritto con il numero di fax, se disponibile; 6) Un titolo breve di non più di 40 caratteri compresi gli spazi.
La seconda pagina deve contenere un riassunto, in italiano ed inglese, di non piu' di 250 parole e un massimo di 6 parole chiave.
Il riassunto deve essere strutturato in paragrafi distinti secondo il seguente schema: 1) Obiettivo; 2) Pazienti e Metodi; 3) Risultati; 4) Conclusioni. Gli autori possono sostituire "Pazienti e Metodi" con "Disegno" o "Materiali e Metodi" nei riassunti di rassegne o di manoscritti relativi a ricerche di base.
Il riassunto e le parole chiave (in ordine alfabetico) devono essere preparati in italiano e in inglese.
Il testo deve essere il piu' conciso possibile e deve identificare le varie sezioni nel seguente ordine: introduzione, pazienti e metodi o equivalenti, risultati, discussione.

Figure e Tabelle: Le figure e le tabelle devono essere riportate su pagine separate e numerate con numeri arabi nell'ordine in cui sono citate nel testo. Le tabelle, redatte a doppia interlinea, devono contenere un breve titolo ed ogni singola colonna in tabella deve avere una propria intestazione. Le note esplicative devono essere poste in calce. Il costo della pubblicazione di figure a colori e' interamente a carico degli Autori.
Bibliografia: Numerare consecutivamente le voci bibliografiche secondo l'ordine di citazione nel testo. Usare lo standard dell'Index Medicus che puo' essere consultato allâindirizzo http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/jrbrowser.cgi.
Le voci riferentesi ad abstracts, editoriali e lettere al Direttore vanno identificate come tali. Quando possibile il DOI per i riferimenti dovrebbe essere incluso alla fine della voce bibliografica. Maggiori informazioni relative al DOI sono scaricabili dal sito www.doi.org

All new manuscripts, copyright transfer agreement* and editorial correspondence should be sent to the Editorial office of Medicina Psicosomatica.
All manuscripts submitted to the Editor are peer reviewed by recognized professionals in the field, and authors will be notified of acceptance, rejection, or need for revision.
Contributors are provided with proofs and corrections must be returned as soon as possible.
A separate covering letter, signed by each Author, must state that the material submitted has not been previously published, and is not under consideration (in whole or in part) elsewhere, and that it conforms with the regulations currently in force regarding research ethics.

Research ethics
If an experiment on humans is described, a statement must be included that the work was performed in accordance with the principles of the 1975, revised in 2000, Declaration of Helsinki. The Authors are solely responsible for the statements made in their paper, and must specify that consent has been obtained from patients taking part in the investigations and for the reproduction of any photographs. For studies performed on laboratory animals, thè authors must state that the relevant national laws or institutional guidelines have been adhered to.

Format
Medicina Psicosomatica publishes material in the form of editorials, articles, reviews, opinions, commentaries, clinical cases, letters, book reviews and news. A specific section of the journal is devoted to Milestones in Biomedical Research.
Editorials: Editorials are solicited by the editor and are related to a paper published in the same issue. Lenght and format of the editorial will be agreed upon between editor and author.
Articles: Articles must be prepared according to specific instructions (see below).
Reviews: Reviews are generally solicited by the editor. Unsolicited review articles will also be considered. These manuscripts summarize state-of-the-art in a particular field.
Opinions: This section of the journal publishes personal opinions of the authors in a particularly controversial area. These contributions will be reviewed as are original articles submitted for consideration.
Commentaries: Commentaries refer to reports of important scientific meetings which are of particular interest to the medical community. These papers should generally include no more than 2000 words.
Clinical cases: These manuscripts should include no more than 3000 words, including 3 or 4 figures and up to 20 references.
Letters: Letters to the editor are welcome and will be published if appropriate. They should be titled and no more 500 words long.

Manuscripts

The first page of manuscript should contain the following informations: 1) Title of the paper (italian and english); 2) Authors' names; 3) Name of institution in which work was done; 4) Acknowledgments for collaboration and research support; 5) Name and address of the author to whom communications regarding the manuscript should be directed, including fax number (if available); 6) A running title of no more than 40 characters.
The page(s) following the title page is/are to contain a summary of no more than 250 words and a maximum of 6 key words.
Abstracts should be organized according to the following headings: 1) Purpose; 2) Patients and Methods; 3) Results; 4) Conclusions.
Authors may substitute "Design" or "Materials and Methods" for "Patients and Methods" in summaries of Review articles or of papers dealing with basic research. Abstracts and key words should be prepared in Italian and English.
The body of the paper must be written as concisely as possible. The manuscript should have clearly identified the various sections in the following order: introduction, patients and methods or equivalents, results, discussion.

Figures and tables
Figures and tables must be submitted on separate sheets and identified with progressive Arabic numerals in the order cited in the text. Tables should be double-spaced and have a title heading. Provide headings for all columns of the table. Legends should be listed at the bottom of the table. Contributors will pay all costs of printing colour phothographs.
References
Number references in order of citation in the text. Follow the standard of Index Medicus. They can be found at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/jrbrowser.cgi.
References to abstracts, editorials and letters to the editor must be identified as such. Where possible the DOI for the reference should be included at the end of the reference. More information can be found at www.doi.org
